L&P have a long-established working relationship with Crisis, the charity for homeless people. Crisis have asked us to provide brand continuity and creative input developing their brand look and feel. As a result we have been working together for a number of years.
Crisis have recently opened a new Skylight Café in Newcastle, with the intention of bringing many more to the rest of the country in future. The Skylight Café is the latest in a series of projects, which has been developed to help homeless people get back to work by providing an environment, which supports them when they need it most. The work rebuilds social and practical skills, enables them to join the world of work and boosts confidence and self-esteem. Through the café, staff receive training and hands-on experience in practical, vocational skills in a friendly and dynamic environment.
All the trainees are homeless or formerly homeless people and all the profits from the café are returned to Crisis. Under the guidance of an experienced Manager, trainees receive structured training, which leads to recognised qualifications in Food Hygiene, Customer Care and Health and Safety. They also benefit from more tailored skills, such as coffee making and specialist aspects of food preparation. The café serves healthy and nutritious sandwiches, light lunches, cakes and drinks.
By helping people out of the trap of homelessness, Crisis believe theirs is a Café with a conscience.
L&P’s work includes: signage, A-boards, menu boards, logos, packaging, promotional material, leaflets, loyalty cards, comments cards and table holders.
